Guru Yudhisthir Nayak was initiated to Gotipua dance at the age of seven. He began his training in Odissi dance at the age of fifteen under Guru Bichitrananda Swain with direct supervision under Gurus Gangadhar Pradhan and Aruna Mohanty. Guru Nayak is also trained in Odissi Vocal, Odissi Mardal, and Chhau dance.
Guru Nayak has performed extensively in India as a solo artist as well as in groups. He has also had numerous performances throughout North America, Canada, and the Middle East. |

| The Ministry of Human Resource Development in India awarded him with the senior national scholarship for young talents in different cultural fields. Guru Nayak teaches Odissi dance to a number of students in India and the USA.He has been the teacher-in-residence for the Center for World Music in San Diego, California, teaching dance and Mardal to several students in the San Diego area for the past 8 years. |
