Shibani was awarded the 2006 Devadasi award in Orissa for her contribution to Odissi dance.
The Orissa Society of Americas (OSA) honored Shibani and her sisters with the “Kalashree” Award in 2005 for their contribution to and promotion of the Oriya arts in North America.
City of Encinitas, California awarded a grant to Shibani in 2004 for promoting Odissi in the city.
California Arts Council awarded a “Next Generation Artists” grant to the Patnaik Sisters for developing new choreographies in Odissi in 2002.
Shibani received the 2001 Chapell-Lougee Scholarship from Stanford University to conduct research on Odissi classical dance in Orissa.
Shibani received the Asian American Performing Arts Award from Stanford University in 2001.
She was awarded the Subrina Biswal Scholarship for Arts in 1996.
The Patnaik sisters were nominated for the prestigious 1997 Kohinoor Award in California in the category of Classical Arts.
The Patnaik sisters have been featured in numerous newspaper articles, both local and national, local TV and India Post TV. Some of these publications include the Dance Magazine of New York, the Yoga Journal, Hinduism Today, India Today, In Style, and Bazaar Magazines.
